Who are the people in your neighborhood? Sure there is the friendly fire fighter, the baker, the storekeeper and a lot more. These people play a key role in the neighborhoods maintenance and welfare. In fact, in all entities, there is an underlying workforce that ensures stability and progress.
A gambling house, especially of considerate size, is not far from this organization concept for it also consists of key people who keep the ball constantly running. These individuals are strategically designated to man the entire gambling house and protect the casino bankroll from gamblers who came for a sure win.
Almost all gambling houses are housed in hotels. In Las Vegas alone, hundreds of hotels have their own casinos that entertain guests. Often, these hotels are the one managing the casino operations. Despite this, there is still a casino manager. He is the person responsible for the entire operation of the casino. He is the middle man between hotel management and casino personnel. In current times, where team work within organizations is greatly promoted, hotel managers pose as the team leader for the casino affairs of the hotel. Therefore, they do not have much autonomy in their tasks for they always answer to the higher echelon.
The casino operates on a twenty-four hour shift allowing customers more gaming time; it is likely that a single casino manager will not be present all the time to oversee operations. Thus, he needs to delegate tasks to shift managers. These people are directly under the casino manager and work eight-hour shifts. They are responsible for ensuring correct payoffs are given to legitimate winners.
The gaming area of the casino is a vast floor space constantly flooded with hungry gamblers desperate to bring home the beef. Games are therefore clustered into pits. This is an arrangement of tables strategically located to be monitored easily by pit bosses. A pit boss is responsible for the orderliness of his pit. This means that tension among gamers should be noted right away and eased accordingly to avoid further dispute.
This list would not be complete without the casino executives who work by socializing with new customers and high rollers inside the casino. They are known as floor people. There are quite a number of them scattered all over the gaming area designated in spots with the purpose of ensuring repeat business and security with the customers. They have a lot to offer each gambler. It can be a free meal, free drink, even a free room if you are a qualified gambler. These are compliments of the casino to ensure that each customer has a great gambling experience.
Lastly, each table has a dealer who constantly interacts with the gamblers at their table. These dealers are not just there to change your cash to chips but they are also there to ensure that cheaters are evicted from the table and assess if a player is due credit or not.
